At Last A Peace Initiative For Palestine & Israel |
|
Saturday, September 02, 2010 - President Obama has finally been able to host peace talks between Palestine and Israel in the presence of President Mubarak of Egypt and King Abdullah of Jordan, Tony Blair the former UK Prime Minister and Hilary Clinton USA Secretary of State.
As I have repeatedly said the Israel-Palestine conflict will only have a hope of resolution if the United Nations is invited to have a similar presence in Palestine, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip as in Kosovo. In Kosovo genocide was halted thanks to Tony Blair and Bill Clinton having great courage to do what was right and then the EU and the UN joined in.
Clearly it is untenable and impractical for Israel to act as Policeman, Judge and Executioner in this region. For everyone’s sake a United Nations peace keeping force needs to take control of Palestine, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip so violence, terror and missiles will stop and allow the suffering people on both sides to live without fear, start to prosper and allow genuine healing to take place.
The Christian, Jewish and Muslim Divine Scriptures speak of “An eye for an eye.” Yet all these Scriptures qualify this principle by saying “It is best you forgive.” We all know if an eye for an eye is practised fanatically the whole world will end up blind.
Building genuine Global peace, personal and environmental security can be the only circuit breakers. Non-aggressive words provide the key.
The highest priority of the United Nations and in particular the G20 Nations needs to be to tackle the 3 great challenges: Poverty, Homelessness and Education. This year alone over $50 Billion [US] is being spent on overcoming the 3 great challenges whilst over $1,000 Billion [US] is being spent on armaments.
Muhammad Yunus’ Grameen Bank highlights how small loans can liberate billions of poor people. He proves how critical it is to change the focus of Global thinking.
Believers in Almighty God, the One God [Christians, Jews and Muslims] must not allow those who pursue war, terror, hatred and fear to contaminate their Faith in God and in each other.
This is a good time for Pope Benedict [who is German] and lived in World War II in Germany to meet the Ayatollah and the President of Iran to explain how he witnessed the Holocaust in Germany and why the World does not need to repeat tragic history.
Chapter 4 “Women” further underlines the essence of Islam: Verse123. “Neither your desires [Muslims] nor the desires of The People of The Book [Christians and Jews] can prevail over God’s Will. Whoever does evil will be punished and they will not find any protecting friend or helper against God.”
We are at the crossroads of our future life on Earth. Which road will we take? In short the Holy Quran forbids killing: Chapter 5 “The Table Spread” [of Jesus] Verse 32 sums it all up: “To take one life is as if you take the life of all humanity and to save one life is as if to save all humanity.” Suicide is not exempt from this obligation.
I thank God, I was born in Australia. I pray and work for a time when all children will live in a World free of prejudice and hatred where they will not be judged by their sex, the colour of their skin or their religion, but only whether their conduct is worthy.

Minibar of Saladin ABC2 Documentary added to 'Holy Quran Simply YouTube Channel' as a Favorite |
An ABC2 documentary, "Stairway to Heaven", about the story of rediscovery to uncover the lost secrets of sacred Islamic art. Known as the "Minibar of Saladin", the 800-year old historic treasure was destroyed in 1969 by a firebomb attack on an Al-Aqsa mosque raising fears that traditional Islamic knowledge and skills needed to rebuild the symbolic monument had been lost with it. Made according to principles of Sacred Geometry, the Minbar is an artistic masterpiece, a stairway made of wood, ivory and ebony with over 16'000 interlocking handcrafted components held together by pressure alone without need for glue or nails.
This documentary recounts a 30-year quest to rebuild the lost Islamic treasure, the 'Minbar of Saladin.'
